Book Pages!

For our September deadline projects, The Stamping Studio design team was given the challenge to use book pages in our designs.  I made three cards and a votive candle holder for my projects and used the Flower of The Month stamp set for April, which is a daisy.  Daisies have a special place in my heart.  My mom's nickname was Daisy Mae, and her birthday was in April......so this is just a sweet stamp set all around!

Mum's The Word!

I have some projects to share for The Stamping Studio's Flower Of The Month for October.  The stamp is a mum, which I love!  Mums remind me of the fall, and of the pots of mums my parents used to send me for my birthday every year.

I actally made these projects in January/February, but couldn't post them until the release of the stamp set........in this case, nine months later.  I have stated before how much I love Brooke Smith's drawings for the FOTM sets, and just her artwork in general.  You can view all of the FOTM stamps by going to The Stamping Studio and scrolling all the way to the bottom in the store area to click on the FOTM stamp section.  Check them out!!

The trio of projects I made includes two cards and a frame.  You can see how dimensional you can make this flower stamp by layering it!

Down The Dark Rabbit Hole and PB&J Anyone?

For a couple of months over the summer I forgot to believe the title of my blog.  I was in a really dark place because of cancer.  I let it take over.  I was really scared.

One day recently, I read something a breast cancer survivor wrote about her experience and she could have been writing my words.  She talked about recovery being a process, and one day you will find that that your thoughts won't be all about death, but about life.  And, even though I am not totally there yet, I am edging toward a feeling that I really am grateful to be alive.  I can feel some of my old determination creeping back into my thoughts and decisions.

So that's where I have been.  Down the dark rabbit hole.

Next month is October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.....to celebrate, I am going to have the mother of all blog giveaways (stamps, Nestabilities, etc.).  Details coming soon.  Also coming soon are some things I have been working on.  Nothing like stamps and ink to put you in a good mood!

I am leaving you with a card I made for my husband for our 29th anniversary in August.  Sometimes we exchange mushy cards and sometimes they are funny.  This year I thought we might need something funny.  I made the jelly shiny on the PBJ sammie and the card made my husband laugh when he opened it.
